Quick answers

Before you leave orbit.

Do I need a Planetary Kitchen to supply food?

No. Start with Food Proteins from a Biomass Synthesizer and transfer them through a Cargo Landing Pad. Follow the food supply chain.

Is Outpost Proficiency the same as Starfleet Prestige?

No. Proficiency advances your outpost; Prestige is used for crew promotions. Check an order’s displayed reward before choosing it. Understand Starfleet Prestige.

Why do Advanced Tech Points need more than samples?

Samples are inputs. Crew must process the matching sample in an Advanced Laboratory with the research recipe enabled. Follow the Advanced Tech Points chain.

Can Shield Emitters help between storms?

Powered coverage can also help comfort and temperature conditions. Check shield power and coverage.
