Metal on Kourou in Star Trek: Outposts Unknown

Keep exploring beyond the landing area, and check whether travel is available before planning a manual metal run to Daegus. An empty landing zone does not establish that all of Kourou has no deposits.

Look beyond the landing zone

Scattered metal near the initial outpost is not necessarily the planet’s only supply. Check unexplored ground and areas beyond blocking exploration events before deciding to abandon the outpost.

There is no fixed deposit coordinate or named event route to follow here. Identify the object by selecting it rather than relying on a general “northwest” direction.

Check travel access before planning resupply

Open Voyage Map and read the current outpost’s Leave Requirements. Do not plan around unrestricted return travel: the outpost may need to meet departure conditions first.

Use the conditions shown in your own game. Do not spend your last essential materials assuming you can immediately leave a newly established outpost and fetch more.

Plan a manual metal run

If departure is available, the manual resupply route is:

Kourou → an established Daegus outpost → metal loaded aboard the ship → Kourou

The old outpost needs a usable metal supply, working cargo facilities and crew. The ship also needs room for the cargo. In Manage Shipment, distinguish the Outpost and Ship inventories and check the direction and quantity before applying a transfer.

Do not treat a shipment request as completed cargo. Check the ship’s metal stock before departing, then check that the metal becomes available at Kourou after unloading. Keep this separate from automatic interplanetary supply: manual trips do not establish an automatic route.

Keep the outpost viable while you travel

Food, water and crew availability still matter to the outpost you leave behind. Fix those bottlenecks before making repeated trips; more imported metal will not resolve a stalled food chain.

If travel is unavailable or a transfer does not complete, inspect the unmet departure or cargo conditions before repeating the same order.
